Full description
Wood Sage has hairy stems with crinkled, rounded leaves and yellow spiked flowers. It forms extensive patches through rhizome growth.
It is a useful plant of woodland understorey and along hedgerows and shingle. Despite its name it will grow on sunny sites and is much liked by bees.
It is sensitive to grazing and trampling.
