Full description

Germander Speedwell is a low growing plant with pretty blue/purple flowers, found mainly in moist, infertile alkali soil.

It can be introduced into short open grasslands, either in full sun or under dappled shade, and into hedgerows and open woodland.

Germander Speedwell is a useful food source for butterflies, especially the Heath Fritillary.
