And as a hedge Beech keeps its leaves throughout the winter, making it not only attractive to look at but also a great shelter for wildlife. Common throughout the British Isles.
Beech tends to prefer chalk and limestone soils. If you have very damp soil, choose Hornbeam instead.
Individual species sold at 40-60cm size.
